A focused website engagement

In March 2020, I undertook a freelance Website Optimization engagement for Chewathai. The documented scope was improving website speed and performance.

This was a specific area of website work. Speed and performance affect the experience of accessing information and form part of website quality alongside content and visual organisation.

Connecting technical quality with use

The engagement added a website-performance context to my digital marketing experience. It reinforced the value of considering a website both as a communication channel and as something people need to use.

Alongside my content and SEO roles, it forms part of the practical background behind my interest in the wider website experience, from discovery to access and reading.

The implementation and the work evidence

The 2024 Company Profile retains website images and before-and-after performance-test captures for this assignment. The site contained many images and a complex structure. I adjusted parts of the code and converted image files to WebP to reduce their size while retaining visual clarity, addressing the resources visitors had to load.

The documented outcome was faster loading, a better overall user experience and an increase in pages per session. The real captures replace a conceptual illustration here to show the work and the evidence retained at the time; they are not presented as measurements of the website today.
