Open original

From 19–22 December 2020, I took part in THNG Camp #10: Internet Governance & Hackathon, organised by Thailand Networking Group with THNIC Foundation. The youth camp brought together internet technology, social questions and practical group work.

Infrastructure and the people who use it

The opening activities at intERLab, Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), included a Connectivity Workshop and Internet Flow Game. The camp also took place at Sirindhorn International Environmental Park in Phetchaburi, as shown on the camp banners in my photographs.

Topics included Internet Governance, Data Privacy, cyberbullying, misinformation, multilingual domain names and an Agile workshop.

Building and presenting as a team

I joined the group activities and represented my team in presenting our work on stage. My photographs record the network workshop, collaboration around a laptop and our presentation.

Third place: a team achievement

My team received third place and a THB 5,000 prize. The organiser’s camp recap names the award Third place Pony and lists the winning project as “ชุมชนดอกหญ้า.ไทย”. This was a shared team achievement.

Internet knowledge, society and teamwork

This camp brings technical networks, questions about information and a shared project into the same learning experience. Connectivity is one part of the picture; the internet also involves access, responsibility and how people interact online.

Representing the team on stage adds a communication dimension: making shared work understandable to an outside audience. The third-place award records the team’s achievement, while the broader experience connects learning with practical work and presentation.
